Well, since I just finished having to read text books on family psychopathology and the DSM, I thought a little light reading was in order, so I got a Celia Rivenbark book, Bless Your Heart, Tramp and Other Southern Endearments. Cute little short stories about all things southern. After that one, I'm going to read her latest work: Stop Dressing Your Six Year Old Like a Skank. I can't wait!

I'll have to check these out, the titles themselves are hilarious. In the meantime, I finally just sat down to finish I am Charlotte Simmons. I picked it up last summer, but just read a few pages here and there since then. I also have a small stack of le Carre to work my way through.
I've gotten through some summer reading so I figured I would bump this...
Like half the people on this site I've finished the last Harry Potter book which I loved. I also read The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls and 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult. Both were excellent books in my opinion. They are the kind that you can't stop thinking about even after you've finished and sort of leave you with a feeling in the pit of your stomache. I've always been a sucker for not perfectly happy endings though.... I think most of us have some sort of dark fascination towards them, which would explain why people enjoy Romeo and Juliet I suppose.
