Did anyone here attend a "British style" private school?

My mother went to St. Andrews for medical school. I've visited the campus, and it is beautiful.

When we took the campus tour at Hahvahd, the guide was all proud of the fact that Hahvahd was founded around 17-something-or-other. My mother broke out in laughter, and then informed the guide that she'd attended a university that was founded in 1411 by papal bull. That shut the guide up...

Glasgow, St. Andrews and Aberdeen were all founded by Papal Bull. Glasgow alumns feel a special rivalry with St. A's, but even moreso with Edinburgh because they are so close.

It's weird that my school is older than my country!

I went to Peddie, but it is in no way modeled after the British 'Private' system, which BTW is the same as 'public' on the US. Public school in the UK is the exclusive circle we try to achieve with our 'private' schools.
