I call it, "The Pretzel Effect."

Just an observation that a lot of girls will bend themselves and their interests to meet their idea of what their BF wants . . . in the beginning anyway.

Major problems later when she starts to unbend.

That's a clinger.

*Now there is nothing wrong with supporting your significant other's interests by doing things that he likes to do sometimes. When your boyfriend's interests become your own, you're a clinger.

For example, Suzy used to really like jogging, scrapbooking, and snowboarding. Once she started dating her new boyifriend Bob, she stopped doing all the things she liked to do and started only doing what he liked to do. Her new hobbies now include wearing jean shorts, black t shirts with metal bands on them, watching WWF 5 nights a week and ordering pro wresting events on Pay Per View. Sad.

I used to work with a woman who would call her man, now husband, when she got to work, when she went to lunch, when she was done with lunch, and when she was leaving work. He would get pissed if she didn't check in at least those four times. He always had to know where she was at any given time. She could not leave work to go out to eat because he wouldn't like that idea! I never could figure out what made me more upset. The fact that he demanded that kind of behavior or the fact that she thought it was just fine. I'd rather stay single than deal with that crap.

^^^^ That is a controlling man and her life will end up miserable.

Clingy: I've been on 3 dates with this man. I ignore my cell phone around 7:30 pm because I'm at my kids' softball games which are running back to back.. 5:30 to 9:00 pm, essentially. We get home from softball and there are two messages on the home phone and one on the cell. I get the kids showered and put to bed, tidy up the house a little, read the mail, settle in to read my email and it's now 10:45 pm, too late to return a phone call. BUT, the phone rings and it is the guy's sister, who lives in Florida, who I have not met (because I've only been on 3 dates with this guy) and she wants to know if I've dumped him because I didn't return his phone call. So yeah, I didn't return a phone call within 3 hours and I'm getting a call from his sister who lives hundreds of miles away???? No, I hadn't dumped him, but after that incident, you bet I did. PSYCHO
