Maybe some idiots are being malicious/snarky, but I doubt it. They are probably just teasing and having fun. Go with it.
As far as flirting with someone you can't see . . . well its flirting not sex. Flirting is just a light hearted teasing way of speaking. I know people in real life that are naturally pretty flirty. They are fun to be around.
Sometimes we refer to flirty people as just being clever conversationalists. Engaging and funny. Witty even.
So if you are naturally a flirty person, there is nothing wrong with that. Good for you.
If you are only flirty when you like someone . . . well then we come back to you crushing on prettyboy.
Which is still cool.
