We did official college visits to both Northwestern and Notre Dame. I loved Northwestern, both academics and campus architecture. The college applicant liked NU but preferred Notre Dame. Ultimately both were eliminated from the list due to their cold climate location.
I too almost went there, to their journalism school. Ended up staying closer to home, but I was a big fan of the school.
