As somebody who competes in the Miss America system actively I find this whole thing pretty disgusting. It gives the majority of young women who compete, who are hard-working, talented and driven individuals a bad image. Please don't judge us by what pretty much seems to be a big scam

One of my high school friends has been in pageants since she was like 4. I have great respect for you ladies-just not AKP.
Also, Miss Congeniality is my favourite movie of all-time and I can quote it line for line. I think I just like it because Sandra Bullock's character is like me and sororities.

One of my sisters is a Miss America system competitor too and she's in medical school now. While there are some things I'll always find just a tad silly about pageants, I certainly have a great deal of respect for the competitors.
