And the proof of it is Nicole Mitchell (biracial), Melanie Brown (biracial) and Tracey Edmonds (fair-skinned AfAm). Eddie's color issues aren't foreign, of course, to the industry. Look at Jigga and Spike Lee, but with lil' Shelton, he doesn't say it -- he casts it (Cynda Williams, Lonette McKee, Raye Dowell etc.)
