I am kind of appalled by some of the comments that are being made on here.
Some people honestly need welfare, I am a community organizer, where I see the need for this in many communities. Keep in mind every city, every state is different, so in some states yes more problems are available for people to take part in to better their lives. In other cities there is not, and people struggle. I know and have worked with many families who yes probably could do more then what they are doing but can't due to one reason or another and mainly in my city due to the lack of programs to help folks, like Job Training and Placement and etc...
Have a heart people, let's see some of you volunteer at local places to really see the people in need and not the reality show based Hollywood version of what welfare is.
