Yeah the bitch needs a longer sentence. In addition, lock her up in a room with inmates full of mothers upset because they can't see their children.
Guaranteed she will get a First Class ass whuppin

This happens a lot more often than you'd like to think. It's actually surprising that this case is even getting press. I haven't heard about it (except for this thread), so it might not be getting that much press.
This is where the assaultive retributivist in me comes out though... criminals like this should be treated as noxious insects to be ground under the heel of society.
(that's a quote, but I don't know who said it)

I'm not arguing in favor of anything, but there's a massive flaw in both lines of thinking - the massive flaw in yours is that, if there's no hope of rehabilitation, don't we need to lock every semi-serious criminal up forever?
That's then the only way to ensure against relapse . . . right? Where do you draw the line?

It's the age-old retributivist versus utilitarian debate.
The best part about it is that you can write all day long on it, but there is no right answer.

Either way, it's nice to think that there's a special ring in hell reserved for people like this woman.

Absolutely. People like her just do not think like people like us... How in the hell do you justify to yourself "renting" another human being out for something as despicable as what she did? Had to be drugs involved. Probably meth.

When I heard about Saddam's hanging, I could only think about how much I would allow such monsters to endure such capital punishment instead of the needle and the poison...let her be restrained FOREVER!!
Ten years is just a complete joke....can it be changed??

I'd go with "worst", because it leads to do-nothing 'arguments' like this one . . . although we can all agree this woman's actions were pretty much as bad as it could possibly get, at least toward an individual.

And it goes in cycles, so at some point there's always going to be one side that thinks it's the "right" way because it's the way that is in use at the time.
