I'm sure if you saw some of my entertainment posts about shows you'd notice that almost all of them are British shows, with the odd American one (but that's not really foreign is it).

Short List of British shows I watch (or own DVDs of):
Yes Minister, Yes Primeminister (an oldy put a goody about politics)
Torchwood
Doctor Who
Rome
Spooks
Battlestar Galactica (mini-series and first season were Brit)
Blackadder

Brit Movies:
hello, anything by Stanley Kubrick - one of the best (in my mind) Vietnam flicks was filmed entirely in Britain - Full Metal Jacket.

I watched the Young Ones, still do when I catch it

The Seventh Seal is Swedish, and is easily in the top three movies ever made. It's set after the crusades/during the plauge. Watch it, pay attention, and tell me it doesn't make you think about things, because it will.

I like Japanese animes, some of them. Not most. Actually, I don't like anime. I like Full-Metal Alchemist and sometimes Ghost in Shell.

Korean dramas are crazy. I had no sub titles so didn't watch long.

We watch quite a bit of Spanish TV in my house. My daughter watches Dora the Explorer in both the Spanish-heavy and English-heavy versions, and Plaza Sesamo.

I love foreign language films. Life is Beautiful, Maria Full of Grace, etc...were wonderful (just as a couple off the top of my head).

It's also interesting to put on the subtitles/language tracks on English movies. I can always tell when the subtitle person was not the one who translated the dubbed soundtrack, because one will be more literally translated, and the other will try to stay more true to the intention of the story.

Some of my favorite movies are in other languages.

Life is Beautiful, Y tu Mama Tambien.

Km. 0 - Set in Madrid, it circles around people who all plan on meeting other people at Kilometer O, the center of Madrid. It's actually very funny with mixed up identities and chance meetings of strangers.

Saving Face - This is actually an American movie, but much of the dialogue is in one of the Chinese languages - Mandarin, I think.

One of my favorite shows of all times is "Coupling" from Britain. The 2nd season is hilarious.

Well I know you all knew I would post here. I absolutely hate American soaps but I love Australian and UK soaps. Usually I go back to England, get caught up on the latest in Neighbours and Eastenders and then fly back home here again. So sad.

I really love Doctor Who (when I remember to watch!) and Little Britain. And I really want a remote control Dalek.

I have to agree, Brits do drama much better than Americans, but I'm pretty sure it's the deadpan humour and Watershed law. After 9pm in the UK, basically anything goes in terms of TV. Before 9pm, not so much. So we don't have censors censoring the hell out of every show and rating it like in the US. This could be one good reason for it.

For foreign films, I loved Amalie and some of the films that come out of Asia such as Hero and Ong Bak. But then I am a martial arts fan girl and Tony Jaa is amazing.

Good German movies:
