Mr. Lidle owned a "20"

Mr. Lidle had under 90 hours of logged flight time.
And it seems, that while everyone knew about his love of flight, flying was not permitted under his contract.
"Lidle's $6.3 million, two-year contract, signed with the Phillies in November 2004, contained a provision saying the team could get out of paying the remainder if he were injured or killed while flying a plane. Because the regular season is over, Lidle already had received the full amount."

....."Cirrus planes have been involved in several crashes in recent years. Five other people have died in three other crashes of Cirrus planes this year, according to records of the transportation safety board. The most recent was on Sept. 15, when a Cirrus SR20 crashed in Colorado, killing the pilot and a passenger.
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued several directives for repairs to the SR20, including one this year calling for inspections of wires and fuel lines for chafing that could cause a fire in flight and one in 2005 for the replacement of bolts in the pilot’s seat that it said could fail in an emergency. Another, in 2002, called for replacing a faulty nut on the roll and yaw system that could cause a loss of control of the aircraft."
