Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but, I think the reasoning behind this is so there would still be a place for PNAIs to post their story. But, if any PNAIs get too specific or solicit recommendations, then that thread will get locked. So, every thread wouldn't be closed after 3 posts, but the way the atmosphere here been around here lately, I'm sure it would be a great deal of them (avoiding the term "majority" so as to avoid being vague or misleading).

At least, that's the way I interpreted the whole thing.

I'm con. Mainly because I think the PT and Carnation do enough without having to add those additional "policing" responsibilities.

Wow, I can' t believe I actually voted on this.

I'm in favor of letting people talk about what they want to as much as possible. It makes no difference to me if it's in on a combined AI subforum in the recruitment section or AI subforum in each GLOs forum.

Can we make a "knowledge of AI isn't ritual, b/c people on this board are AIs and outspoken about it, therefore if it were ritual they should have ther membership cancelled, but it's not, so they won't, so who cares if we have the forum" addendum?

Seriously, why does everyone seem to have their 'panties in a bunch' over this topic?

Oh, I'd be really tempted to sign on to that.

(except that I do care: about people being allowed to discuss anything they want to that doesn't violate policy)

I don't think it IS ritual, unless all "information for members only" is considered "ritual" by certain orgs. But I think we should respect other organization's right to keep who they choose for AI and how they do it to themselves. We don't go around speculating in the undergraduate recruitment threads about which organizations have which policies about choosing their members- I don't know why we think it's appropriate at the alumnae leve.

If the people making decisions in your organization don't even WANT you discussing this online (because we all know how they luuuuuurve GreekChat), WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT MEMBERS SHOULD BE FREE TO DISCUSS ANYTHING THEY WANT?

Seriously, if you're legit (you still haven't introduced yourself in the Roll Call, btw), just let it go.

Just the basic expectations of free discussion within the rules of TOS and GLO policy as I understand it.

Point out to me where I can find a statement from our organization that backs up your claims about GreekChat or online discussions generally. Your repeating it over and over to me in all caps isn't as convincing as you intend it to be.

After reading everything, and kind of "watching" everything.

I have to agree.

GC is a great place for information but you can get very basic AI information from most (if not all, but I haven't checked) National websites.

So put me as con.

But posting success stories after the fact, I think should be allowed.

After much thought, I'm con. I just don't see any good happening here anymore.

Although I frequently read GC, I rarely post anymore but I feel so strongly about this that I'm compelled to post.
