The fact is that they've beaten all of the teams that were supposed to give them an early on run for their money fairly decisively -- with this past weekend at Iowa being anticipated as their big test. Playing, and beating, three nationally ranked teams in the first four or five weeks is pretty impressive. Say that the other teams are weak if you will, but there has to be some reason for their standings.
Ohio State may not run the table -- and the Michigan game is always a toss up -- but I think the Buckeyes are for real and could end up national champions.

Oh yeah, I totally agree........and I really don't know why they didn't play Troy Smith the entire game last year.....really odd to me as well.

i would just like to say
GO TIGERS!
Ok, now for a stupid footlball question, can someone explain to me how teams are choosen for bowl games and how early you can begin to narrow down what Bowl game your team will be playing in. I'd like to start saving money to go see my Tigers, if they have a chance in playing in one of the Bowl games near me.

There is no truth to that as far as everyone is concerned in Austin. If he leaves though, thats fine.........you can't tell me there won't be plenty of high profile coordinators biting at the chance to go to UT.

Yeah, i'm gonna love having another stacked team that gets to play yall minus Adrian Peterson and a QB. There is no reason for AD to stay at OU next year.
I would warm up to the possibility of another string of wins by us in the Shootout......we are going to be really good for a long time.

The ACC has tie-ins to eight different bowls. (see below) The number represents the selection and not necessarily where a team finishes. So for example, after the BCS team is selected (winner of the ACC Championship game), then the Chick-fil-A (Peach) Bowl gets to select next. Then the Gator Bowl and on down the line.
Emerald at San Francisco
December 27
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)
ACC #6/#7 vs. Pac-10 #4/#5
Music City at Nashville, Tennessee
December 29
ACC #5 vs.SEC #6
(1:00 p.m. - ESPN)
Champs Sports at Orlando, Florida
December 29
ACC #4 vs. Big Ten #4/#5
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)
Meineke Car Care at Charlotte, North Carolina
December 30
ACC #6/#7 vs. Big East #3
(1:00 p.m. - ESPN)
Chick-fil-A (Peach) at Atlanta
December 30
ACC #2 vs. SEC #5
(8:00 p.m. - ESPN)
MPC Computers at Boise, Idaho
December 31
ACC #8 vs. WAC #1/#2/#3
(7:30 p.m. - ESPN)
Gator at Jacksonville, Florida
January 1
ACC #3 vs. Big 12/Big East/Notre Dame
(1:00 p.m. - CBS)
Orange at Miami, Florida
January 2
ACC BCS v. BCS
(8:00 p.m. - FOX)
Times are Eastern

Unless you make it to a BCS bowl, you're looking at like 70 bucks. I wouldnt worry too much.

I think I've paid between $65 (Alamo Bowl, through the school's student package) and $130 (Outback, solid seats though) - obviously the Music City Bowl will be better than the Capital One, but yeah, just to add to what you said, the ticket really isn't a monster expense (esp compared w/ hotel etc).
