I don't even like to see Sigma Rhomeos do it, who no doubt got it from us. I know...I would be mad at us too. Sorry.

Regarding my dislike of Kappas, part of it is me being sarcastic and part of it is me being dead serious. There is way too much SGRho/Kappa drama filled history in my memory (which I won't get into), from campuses like mine where we couldn't stand eachother half the time to campuses where it's Indy this and Indy that all day from both orgs. On my campus we were tight with the Sigmas and Ques and there was always some drama with the Kappas (just wow at some of the things that went down). However, I would be lieing if I said that I don't know Kappas that I like but it's not hard for me to dislike them either. On my campus, we literally had a love/hate relationship although ironically today, it's Indy this and Indy that from both orgs...which is strange as hell for me going back there...LOL! Anyway, I think the biggest thing that turns me off from the whole Kappa/SGRho relationship is when Kappas act like it's the most horrible thing for an SGRho to call them frat. I know it's not like that everywhere but respect is due and there is no need to be nasty. I've been to campuses where it's soror this and soror that and it's not coming from my sorors, so it goes both ways. I personally make it my business not to feed into the male ego so although I am never rude when a Kappa calls me soror, I mostly ignore them unless directly spoken to. And I'll stop right here on this subject.

Much Respekt.

LOL True. He's also the Nupe in the red shirt. It's the same brother. I won't debate with the Sigmas about which organization was associated with the cane first. If there are some Sigmas who believe that canes were associated with their organization first, then that's cool. They're entitled to their thoughts.
But good point, Nupe.

Thanks for answering my question. I can see that it's a touchy subject for you, but I just wanted to elaborate on what you said. About what's in bold. If it's not that hard for you to dislike them, to me, it seems like you already have somewhat of a dislike towards them from the start, based on your own experiences.
I agree with the rest. I think it's silly and childish. When I was an undergrad, it didn't make me a difference one way or the other if an SGRho acknowledged me in that way or not, really.
I'm speaking in general here, but (to me), I think it's one thing to say I don't like the Kappas I've met, or I don't like some of the experiences I've had with some of the Kappas I've come in contact with...it's another thing to make a generalization and say I don't like Kappas, because......
It's nothing wrong with disliking someone or some people in another organization. As far as far as I'm concerned, there are even members you're not going to like in your own organization. I just don't think it's cool to associate a member you (in general) have never met with members you've (in general) met and dislike.

It's actually not that deep anymore (only when I think of my undergrad days). Of course I was generalizing (don't we all?!) and I did say we had a love/hate relationship. I still feel this way about y'all. I just love to hate you. But seriously, being in an alumnae chapter that's very active in our local NPHC, we are around y'all enough (more than enough for my taste but whatever).

I'd like to see someone take my granny's cane. She'd beat them with it.
