For someone who is "sad" that someone would post about the passing of a celebrity's son on 9-11, I think it's kind of tacky to post this.

You have you right to have a option but what is wrong in posting professional op-ed cartoons that are in todays newspapers?

IMHO, rather large different in subject matters.

The son of a so-called celebrity vs. a National/World Wide tragity (sp?).
Did you even look at anything pass the first page?

PM_Mama00-We all have our rights of OHO and POV.

PM_Mama00-Not the day for this kind of nit-piking.
You tell her she has the right to have an opinion, but then you chastise her for nitpicking? Why can't she have an opinion on the cartoon? I don't agree with the cartoon, either

I agree this is a day to remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day, and to remember the families and friends who have gone through so much heartbreak and pain over that time. However, I don't think that what PM_Mama did was at all offensive or wrong - she was just taking issue with a political cartoon.

I don't necessarily agree with the first page I clicked on, but there are pages of cartoons, some of which are really touching. You all should check out the other pages.

I think you actually started the nit-picking in the other thread. That's okay though.

1) Thank you-reason why I posted the link. I am not in control of the order or placement of cartoons.

2)Perhaps-just MHO and POV.

That's true, a couple are touching; but there are also a few that people would find issue with politically. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I'm not sure that it's right to say today is not a day for nitpicking. EVERY day is a day for critical thought, questioning and yes, nitpicking comes along for the ride.

Giving up critical thinking because of a tragedy leads to less independant thought.

Thank you, but I was actually nitpicking on the hypocrisy.

Jon- I didn't read any article or anything, didn't even read the whole thread. 9-11 is a VERY important day... more important to some than others. However, if this is such an important day for you and so sad, why are you on GC posting political cartoons? Why aren't you at one of the memorials or paying respect elsewhere? Just because someone posts a topic other than 9-11 today, it doesn't mean that person/people aren't thinking about it.

And if 9-11 isn't the day to "start" something, then I don't wana see any posts by you on irrelevant topics on Memorial Day, Easter, Christmas, 4th of July, All Saints Day, D-Day, April 20th, or any other day that is as important to others as this day is to you.

ETA: Ok I just looked at the cartoons, and saw a few respectful ones in the midst of dozens of political ones. Kinda childish and petty on a day that should be focused on remembering what happened and those who died/were injured, rather than pointing fingers and looking at political aspects.

I find D-Day, the Holidays, the 4th et al rather important....perhaps now more than ever....

For those who seem to have an interest or who have been touched by some of the Editorial Cartoons, I located the rest of their works from over the years.
