Da Brat is LisaRaye's sister right?? Just wanted some clarification.

When Lisa did an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine she referred to herself as the only child and when she made reference to Da Brat she didn't call her her sister. I've heard that she and Da Brat are sisters but after reading that article I assume Da Brat was just extremely close to Lisa's family. Did anyone else read that article?

Gina, I thought that blood vessel was going to bust too! But the wedding turned out very nice. I thought that the fireworks were better during the recepition than right after the wedding. The cake was neat too (even thought the bakers had to do it over).
And why was Vivica everywhere? It seems like I saw her more there than the groom!
One of the occupations I have been thinking about lately is a event planner/coordinator. Seeing this gives me a lot more respect for them.

^^I haven't seen the article but if that's true that's crazy because in the interview that I saw she's the one that brought it up. It's not like the interviewer had even asked her if Da Brat was her sister. She was the one that pointed out her sister DaBrat's picture on the wall. With celebrities there is no telling though. I don't even try and figure out why they do what they do. I remember back in the day when R Kelly and Alliyah sat up in an interview talking about they were cousins. And we all know the outcome there. (LOL)

I loved the wedding. I liked her hair better when she came to the reception the nice cascading curls. I think Preston did a great job. I watched it twice.

Mad I missed it.
I thought Da Brat and Lisa were half sisters. Maybe they just weren't raised together even though they grew up in the same city.

Well I could see why she would say that. I have a half sister whom I love, but she's 8 yrs older than me and we grew up in separate households. For all intensive purposes I was raised as an only child even though I technically have a sister. What I tell people tends to depend on the context of the conversation. If we're talking about fighting w/siblings as kids or sharing, then I say I'm an only child. However, if we're talking about going to a siblings graduation/wedding, then I mention my sister. It may have been a similar situation for her.

One the program they said Da Brat was her sister, plus she was in the bridal party. I've also seen interviews with Lisa saying the Brat was her sister.

I loved it and my brother loved it (especially the cake). My mother: HATED IT! She said it was too extravagant, opulent and ostentatious. She also wondered why nobody researched how things are done in Turks and Caicos. Things like: 1. Are there areas that have refrigerators so that essential items can be refrigerated (i.e. flowers, cake ingredients)?
2. Is there shuttle service for hotel guests?
3. Did anyone know that most if not all of the $h!t that they had flown there would have to go through Customs or be detained by them?
4. If you know that what you're shipping from the U.S. to Turks and Caicos is delicate, did you really think that when it got to you it would still be intact?
Anyway, I enjoyed it, despite the snafus and will watch it again when it comes on. Although I'd prefer the Real Weddings from the Knot.

Lisa Raye and Da Brat are indeed half sisters. The grew up in Chicago or at least Lisa did where her father or their father I should say ran a very successful funeral business. Lisa was going to go into the family business but found that wasn't where she wanted to go......if anyone saw the VH-1 Surreal Life that had Da Brat on their. They showed when they go to invite someone to the show I think for the fashio show that the guys did, Da Brat invited Lisa Raye which she said and it said under her name that it was her sister. I do know that they didn't grow up together, and they are half-sisters.
I see that this is coming on again tonight at 10pm...I hope to catch it this time because I wanted to check it out when I saw the previews.....I saw the rerun of Mo's show yesterday, and thought it was pretty good since I didn't see the first one.

Da Brat was adopted by LisaRaye's parents. I missed the show, so I shall see it tonight.
Thanks for the reminder.

Brat is from Chicago too. In one of her early raps (Funkdafied) when she says she's from the 60644, she's talking about a zip code in Chicago. My sister's hairdresser in ATL does Brat's hair sometimes and my baby sister has met her. She said they were in the shop at the same time, she was really down to earth and offered my baby sister some of her food.
