I guess...it used to mark a young lady's "presentation" to adult society. Now I think it's more of a tradition than anything else. There are some earlier posts in this thread that explain debutantes really well. I wasn't one, so I can't really explain it. But my roommate my freshman year at Georgia was a debutante. I was like "People still do this?" when she told me. She didn't think it was a big deal at all. But her dad was a doctor in North Carolina and I was just a middle class Yankee, so what did I know!

Well yeah, the original wealth of Fayette Co. was based on Delta. I mean, obviously we have corporate types from other ATL based companies (UPS, Coke, Home Depot, etc), but Delta was the main one. However, most of those pilots have been in Fayette for a while (in my experience, I have probably 20 friends with parents as pilots, all have been here for at least 15 years, and most are from GA). I'm sure it is different depending on who you talk to, but the majority of people moving into PTC from the north have been in recent years, past 3 or so. As for the "benefit" brought by Clayton County, I'm sure you're joking. Unless of course, you consider crime a benefit.
