KOK yes, but for DOG, the D is a Delta and the G is a Gamma which doesn't make it as obvious a visual joke.

Yes, but Delta and Gamma are often made D and G when shortening names, as in ADPi and AGD!

What you have to remember is that the movie was made for independants to poke fun at greeks. If they used omega instead of omicron, the ignorant people might not find it as funny. Thus, less ticket sales, and less money.
