Movie Question - Sorority Boys.
Looking to work on a list of fake fraternities and sororities. I'm seeing contradictory information in movie reviews as to whether the fraternity in the film was Kappa Omicron Kappa or Kappa Omega Kappa and whether the Sorority was Delta Omicron Gamma or Delta Omega Gamma.
Does anyone have the film who can tell me for sure? Thank You. Randolph Finder Alpha Phi Omega alumnus |
slightly off topic...
just fininshed watching one of those lifetime movies--never mind the fact that mark-paul gosselear is always typecast for this role, but he was in a frat called Kappa Pi, which i assume is a fake frat. couple of weeks ago, my brother was watching yet another stupid TV movie called "going greek" (actually i think it went straight to DVD) and the frat was called iota something chi (i remember them pronouncing it i-ki for short). in that particular movie theres a few other orgs, the sister org was Tri Pi (which im sure was purely created for humourous innuendo). back to your original question--i never saw the movie, but i think for the comedic effect, the writers wouldve used "omicron" but i guess to give it a more cliche greek college movie, they'd use "omega"--personally i would think omega over omicron if i was making some letter association with the college frat scene. |
I've seen the movie, but I too can't remember if they used Omega or Omicron.
My guess is Omicron because I'm pretty sure the "O" was one of the letters on the house. |
I love this movie!!! Its soooo funny! But yeah they both use Omicron.

Not trying to be overly sensitive, but seeing as I am an Alpha OMICRON Pi, I was just wondering. :) |

The comedic effect she was referring to was the fact that the letters read "KOK" and "DOG" rather than K[insert Omega here]K and D[insert Omega here]G. It wouldn't have been the same if they used OMEGA as opposed to OMICRON. |

Yea, I'm pretty sure they were both Omicrons.

Way off subject, one of the main charaters is an alumni from WKU, Western Kentucky University. I tell the people calling to ask me to give to WKU, that I watched that movies, there for I am supporting a fellow alum.

What you have to remember is that the movie was made for independants to poke fun at greeks. If they used omega instead of omicron, the ignorant people might not find it as funny. Thus, less ticket sales, and less money.

They were definately Omicrons
