Is there a way to start a mentoring program for these kids with the Alphas?
A lot of chapters link with existing area groups. My chapter works with the Boy Scouts (sort of Boyz in the Hood, if you will), Urban League, an after school reading program with a local church, etc... I'd suggest you check with the local collegiate and alumni Alpha chapters.

...and props to you for looking for that sort of effort.
