However it also the Republican party that is one of the biggest opponents of AA ( the White House sent an opinion to the Supreme Court during the Michigan Case) Also, people of color in his cabinet doesn't make the party more appealing, if the platform remains the same (Something that many people refuse to believe, we don't vote purely because we see people who look like us, otherwise I think we would have more women politicians) and hence why even with the addition of Powell and Rice in the cabinet, Bush is not expected to pull more than 10% of the Black vote. But, I think instead of changing the platform to attract more voters ( I am not saying they should, but they would have to for ME to switch parties), They are doing something alot easier and won't cost them their base, showing "hey we got minorities too" ex 2000 convention. The reason I said the lincoln comment I belong to a couple of organizations where many republicans have hit during the campagn trail, and every one mentioned the Party of Lincoln thing several times, on one candidates speech I lost count, so Rudey you need to tell them to update their accomplishments.
