Trading Spaces is on Northwestern's campus, and if you have time in the next couple of days, head to the sorority houses to see it all happen.
Leah came running into the goskokie cave this morning flustered because Ty Pennington, the delicious host of Trading Spaces, was on Northwestern's campus this morning.
After Leah and I went to investigate this in person, we realized that Trading Spaces was doing a sorority house episode. The Kappa Alpha Thetas and the Delta Gammas were switching dining rooms for a complete room makeover. According to the hostess, this is the biggest amount of space the show has redone.
The Delta Gamma team, wearing orange shirts, and the Kappa Alpha Theta team, wearing green shirts, huddled together to get their assignments and money to began remodeling.
The only designer I saw was Frank who flashed me a cheery smile.
The producers weren't more than 30 years old and were in casual attire, so casual that I mistook the collared-shirt P.R. guy for the head honcho.
Everyone was so friendly, that this show must be the best job on the face of the earth.
I took a few photos of Frank and the sorority girls, but as I aimed to shoot the entire group, who posed for me, the camera battery surrendered and rain began to fall.
As the cast and crew scrambled to protect the equipment, I handed my e-mail address to a crew member and begged him to send me some photos of the filming.
I waved to the group and thanked them while passing their massive food service truck, stomach growling.
The show will air sometime in late August.
