EXCLUSIVE: TRADING SPACES IN MY BACKYARD

Trading Spaces is on Northwestern's campus, and if you have time in the next couple of days, head to the sorority houses to see it all happen.

Leah came running into the goskokie cave this morning flustered because Ty Pennington, the delicious host of Trading Spaces, was on Northwestern's campus this morning.

After Leah and I went to investigate this in person, we realized that Trading Spaces was doing a sorority house episode. The Kappa Alpha Thetas and the Delta Gammas were switching dining rooms for a complete room makeover. According to the hostess, this is the biggest amount of space the show has redone.

The Delta Gamma team, wearing orange shirts, and the Kappa Alpha Theta team, wearing green shirts, huddled together to get their assignments and money to began remodeling.

The only designer I saw was Frank who flashed me a cheery smile.

The producers weren't more than 30 years old and were in casual attire, so casual that I mistook the collared-shirt P.R. guy for the head honcho.

Everyone was so friendly, that this show must be the best job on the face of the earth.

I took a few photos of Frank and the sorority girls, but as I aimed to shoot the entire group, who posed for me, the camera battery surrendered and rain began to fall.

As the cast and crew scrambled to protect the equipment, I handed my e-mail address to a crew member and begged him to send me some photos of the filming.

I waved to the group and thanked them while passing their massive food service truck, stomach growling.

The show will air sometime in late August.

Another Theta on Trading Spaces

In this weekend's Trading Spaces, Kerry Scrug, (Beta Xi/UCLA, Initiated 1997) trades with friends to redecorate apartments.

I was sad.... no kites or pansies in the decor ;)

I bought a pansy shower curtain in walmart. I wanted matching pansy trashcan and towels and what nots but they only had the shower curtain :(

I do have pansy place mats for my bar though (i dont have a table and chairs), two pansy night lites (one for my room and one for my bathroom), and a pansy light switch cover for my bedroom :)

A sister of mine found pansy sheets but I havent been able to find any for myself.

Tonight, Aug. 3rd at 8pm. Laura Bush will be on the O'Reilly Factor on the Fox News channel.

I think this will be a good interview. I heard part of it today on the radio factor.

Pardon the crash, but I just caught the end of the Trading Spaces episode. I really liked how the Theta room turned out! Does anyone know if it was kept that way? :)

I don't blame them a bit!! That was not my favorite room. The painted piano was a bit over the edge... which is probably where they wished it had ended up!

Are there any pictures of the new room?

I would love to see how much better and more mature it looks!

Laura admitted to not knowing anything about sororities or even what the Greek Letters were. Wouldn't a good designer do a little research about her clients and check out the dg website?
