we have paddle exchange night and you can pretty much make whatever kinda of paddle you want. Some people even use an orr as a paddle. But anyway the rituals director sends a letter home to all the new member's parents and the mom or dad or whoever writes a letter to the new member and tells a few funny stories or sad ones anyway its pretty much a congrats for being initiated. They also sends pictures from when they were little till they left for college. Its really cute and its been a long going tradition at my chapter.
