What about this? Angie attends Big State U. and is in a one of a kind, only on this campus, program. She pledges and is initiated with AB chapter of XYZ her freshman year. XYZ is not at total. Over the summer, her mom becomes ill, so Angie transfers to Small Hometown U. her sophomore year to take care of her mother. SHU has a chapter (DE) of XYZ and she affiliates with them. The DE chapter is not at total so no issue. Now, things are fine with mom, so Angie is able to go back to Big State U. and is accepted back in her program. Let's say that XYZ is now at total since they COBed during the year. Since she was originally imitated with the AB chapter, would she still need to affiliate? If not, would XYZ have to take one less new member? Are there any "special circumstance" where someone might be able to affiliate?
