Seriously y'all. If you can't handle making a decision like this on your own then I don't think you should be procreating. Not to mention that there was pretty much no way that she didn't know what Dr. Laura was going to say; she just wanted an "expert" to back up her own prejudices so she didn't have to say to the teacher, "I don't want my daughter to cavort with murderers"; instead she could say "Dr. Laura told me that my daughter shouldn't be hanging out with murderers."

This thread is scary. No, tolerance does not mean that you have to tolerate everything, and clearly this woman has a right to pull her daughter from the field trip if she feels that is the right idea -- I'm not arguing that. But deciding that all Muslims are murderers because a handful of them did something atrocious on 9/11 is painting with a pretty wide brush, and the fact that people aren't even questioning that is really scary to me.
