I've read this quote before. Supposedly it was a Jesuit saying. Think about it. ITs great advice for a whole bunch of situations.. Politicians use it all the time.
In this case what it means is:
IF you ask her "Can I stick it in" lol, and she says no. You are going to really hear it if you do anyway.
IF you just go for it and she complains, you can just say, "my bad" run a few more stokes and pull out, no harm done.
