soccer hazing and glo hazing
I go to MSU and would like to respond to the comparison between hazing on sports teams and hazing with GLOs.
The two incidents were handled completly different by the MSU community, MSU, and the State News the local paper. Every day around the time when the Pi kappa phi incident happened, there would be a huge headline in the paper, saying GREEKS VS. LGBT COMMUNITY. never pi kappa phi vs. lgbt. and i noticed when this thing witht he soccer team happened it was mentioned once in a small section in the back. Our paper is very much against greeks. (rumor even has it they sent an undercover reporter through rush in the '90s). Also when they were all like greeks hate LGBT in the front of the paper they conitiniously hid mentions of how our greek week raised close to $30,000 for charity!
Anyway it is even more ridiculous to keep bringing that up in 2003. Pi Kappa Phi has since kicked out all the members that were responsible for those incidents. Wrote letters tothe Greek community, LGBT and to the state news. Pi kappa phi has since recolonized with (i think) all new members. As a greek community we are getting to know the new pi kaps and they are amazing guys. It is just really stupid to keep bringing them into it becuase they are now a completly different house with different guys, the only thing that is the same is their letters!
on a different thought i doubt they will do anything to the soccer players. too much money involved!
