First I have to get this off my chest:

Personally, I cringed when I read HotDamn's original post.

Please, if something is a local "tradition," label it as such. I would be mortified if another Phi Mu came to my alma mater and did that.

If the Sigmas on your campus have heard you do that and have never said anything, fine by me, but please try to remember how these things get started so they don't get carried too far.

To answer the original question. Phi Mu does not have any calls or whistles to which I have ever heard a reference.

We were definitely "Era I," in 1852, but we organized very openly, so I do not imagine there was a need for such a means of identification.
