PNM's at Valpo didn't wear recruitment shirts...the sorority women did! The first round of parties (Open House), Panhellenic wanted the sororities to look similar, so each member is given a shirt that says something on the front (my senior year had the Recruitment Theme: Add a Chapter to Your Life) and then on the back it has some sort of design that fits the theme (the back of '02 shirt had each mascot of the seven sororities in their "assigned" color- fitting one of the national colors and it said Valparaiso University Recruitment 2002). It was a quick way to identify each sorority (during the 10 minute break between parties) as long as you remembered which color went with which sorority, as well as "equalizing" all the sororities so no group stood out as the "sophisticated" sorority or the "laid-back" sorority.
