I am not inclined to be influenced either way by conventions. I think that the Republican Convention is attempting to present the picture of an integrated party, a picture that does not hold up under the slightest scrutiny.
I was watching Tavis's show tonight and one of the things that they point out is that the percentage of minorities represented on the stage is ten times the percentage of minority delegates at the convention, but let's not get started on statistics.
One thing that tonights show did which has not occured in the past few days of the convention--that I really appreciated-- was give me a little insight into the minds of black people wihin the republican party.
I still don't agree with Bush. I do not care for the political records that he, his vice presidential candidate, or even his vice president's wife have established for themselves and these are the things that will heavily influence my decision when I vote. My opinion has not in the least bit been swayed by this bit of shameless orchestration.
