I read two local newspapers because I'm a business journalist and I need to find out what they are doing. Because our readers have limited time with us, I can't duplicate what they've got.

Besides, I like having a working knowledge of current events, although I am sort of old-school when it comes to conversation -- read I don't bring up topics like religion and politics w/people I just met.
