Great news!
She got her preference day invitations. There was only one and it was her legacy house. She was super excited. She was dropped by the other house but she really only preferenced them as she knows she should maximize her options. She has already gone to the party. She said the most awkward conversation was with her actual sister. lol. She said they got caught up on what has been happening this week. Her sister was glad she only had her house left since she had been so worried other houses might try to "steal" her. But she has really good friends in a lot of the houses and she thinks they probably dropped her out of respect for her. DD2 thinks it is a really good fit.
However, a lot of her friends feelings were hurt that they were dropped by DD1 house. In reality, I think the houses they currently have are actually the right fit. It may just take them awhile to figure it out. One has two houses, one she loves and the other not so much. They are contemplating SIP but DD2 is advising them not to. I had read here a few years back when DD1 was considering that. I am assuming it is accurate that at SIP will get you put to the bottom of the bid day list. Not sure if that is true for all, but the risk is so great if you really want your first choice. My DD1 maximized her options and got her first choice.
I am not sure this new deep early cuts thing is going to work out so well for the houses. Lots of girls were dropping after second round. Time will tell. I am anxious to get the numbers. The preference parties at some houses are really really small so I am worried great girls got left out along the way.
