Kappa Alpha Theta founded at Asbury College (now Depauw University (Greencastle, Indiana)) January 27, 1870 as the first greek letter fraternity known among women. I know this is disputable, but that I what I heard from my chapter.
But Alpha is alive and kicking still and one of the most respected sororities on the 75% Greek campus. I think another was founded there too. But anyways, I know a couple of people that are members of Alpha chapter and they are awesome

.
It is nice to see an Alpha chapter that is still as active today as it was when it was founded. I have enjoyed this post about all the active chapters still out there.
