Greek Terminology and APO
Hi Brothers,
I was sitting here thinking about how APO chapters pretty much adopt the identities of the campus they exist on, and how Greek terminology fits in there.
For example, as I've said before, my chapter has always had "pledge lines". But we never went through the formality of offering someone a "bid" as other organizations do, yet, I do know of some chapters that do.
So I just wanted to start a thread where we can list our chapter terminology and compare notes. I'll start:
Line/pledge line = pledge class, but ordered by height
Line mate = Line Brother/Line Sister (anyone in your pledge class)
Sands = Anyone who became a member of any Greek organization the same semester as you
Crossing (NEVER "Crossing over") = being initiated
On Line = Pledging
Line Dedication = same as Pledge Class Namesake
We probably have more, but I'll wait to hear others.
