HELP: MY RECRUITMENT DOESN'T START TILL JAN

Hey guys!

At my school, recruitment doesn't begin until the spring semester! What should I do in the mean time to get ready for it/what do sorority members look for in freshman? Also, is it true that they look for potential members at parties and other social stuff before rush? Thanks so much for answering
