Ive Always Wondered!

WHY DO YOU COLLEGE STUDENTS HAVE SOROTIES IN THE STATES,UP HERE IN CANADA NO SUCH THING EXISTS!IS THERE ANY ADVANTAGES TO HAVING SUCH CLUBS OR ORGANIZATIONS?
