Hey guys,
I am a senior at my university and finally pursued membership into Delta Sigma Theta. They only do it every other year and my sophomore year I was still researching and not ready to commit yet. I went to the rush, did everything I was supposed to (packet-wise), and got my interview. I thought everything was going great and was waiting for my call to congratulate me for being accepted into the sorority. Sadly, I got my rejection letter and was totally bewildered (along with everyone else---even my friend who is a Delta was beyond shocked!) I mean, I had a 3.3 gpa (2.5 min gpa), over a 1 years worth of community service (3 month minimum) and three great letters of recommendations! So I, like everyone else, am confused as to why I wasnt granted membership. I mean, I totally understand that EVERYONE can not get in, but NPHC sorority members, what would steer you to reject someone from your sorority with such credentials.
P.S. I am by no way bitter, but I am really curious as to what you guys look for especially when a girl I know got her call back when she had the bare minimum. That part DOES piss me off because I feel that she is in it just for the letters and partying. So unfair!!
