Delta Sigma Theta
 

Hey guys,

I am a senior at my university and finally pursued membership into Delta Sigma Theta. They only do it every other year and my sophomore year I was still researching and not ready to commit yet. I went to the rush, did everything I was supposed to (packet-wise), and got my interview. I thought everything was going great and was waiting for my call to congratulate me for being accepted into the sorority. Sadly, I got my rejection letter and was totally bewildered (along with everyone else---even my friend who is a Delta was beyond shocked!) I mean, I had a 3.3 gpa (2.5 min gpa), over a 1 years worth of community service (3 month minimum) and three great letters of recommendations! So I, like everyone else, am confused as to why I wasnt granted membership. I mean, I totally understand that EVERYONE can not get in, but NPHC sorority members, what would steer you to reject someone from your sorority with such credentials.

P.S. I am by no way bitter, but I am really curious as to what you guys look for especially when a girl I know got her call back when she had the bare minimum. That part DOES piss me off because I feel that she is in it just for the letters and partying. So unfair!!:mad:

I know you are new around here, but we do NOT discuss membership selection in organizations and/or councils other than our own.

Especially when the council in question is the NPHC, whose members make very clear that such discussions are inappropriate and that questions about joining should not and will not be answered here.

It's okay; we know you are new. When it comes to NPC/IFC stuff, we sometimes offer general speculation (e.g. your grades are bad, you are a transfer, etc.), but membership selection is obviously a touchy subject across the board.
