Your wording is a bit confusing. When you ask, "should I assume that this means I am in the sorority, should I chose to accept?" do you mean if you accept the invitation to preference? or do you mean if you accept a possible bid you might get?

No matter, you should never assume you're "in" until you have a bid in your hand.
