I think part of it is how busy I am with work right now and until next week is done, it's really sucked a lot of the fun out of it. I find this to be a chore right now rather than fun like usual.

This is kind of what got in the way of my writing last year. I set out to write a book about how to move to the other side of the planet and what it was like for me. I got through about 10,000 words no problem. They just fell out of me. But after that it got boring and I just didn't care any more. I could probably go back to that piece and clean it up for a substantial essay or magazine article, but there's just not enough in my personal experience to make 50,000 words. Maybe once my husband has completed the process of losing his job, searching for a new job and FINDING one, I can add another 10K to the story about that. Or maybe when this whole adventure is over I can finish it off with the repatriation process, which is more frightening to me than the expatriating process was.
But I've never written straight up fiction. Maybe I should try that. I think I need CougADPi's kid to supply me with a base plot!
