Added security: badge guard (chapter letter(s), crest, whatever) attached to the badge via a chain. It's just one more layer of security. The badge falls off, but the guard is still on your clothing and you'll notice it dangling (or someone else will).

With the bubble guard, I make sure that I really push it all the way up the pin shaft on the wrong side of my clothing before passing the shaft through to the front of my clothing to then close the pin. Some actives were not using their bubble guards correctly, and were surprised to learn how it actually works.
