What I love about this story is that three separate scientists have estimated that the rate of oil spilling from the pipe is 50,000 barrels per day, 10x what was previously reported. They used three separate methods to come to this estimate which verifies their claims. BP's response? "Uh...there's no way to estimate the rate of oil spilling from the pipe." Yeah, we're going to take your word for it!
