As one who had to eat nothing but soup for months in college and barely scraped by to pay dues, I truly understand the difficulties. I do believe the question has already been answered sufficiently by not one but two Alpha Gams, one giving advice into making it work with AGD and another giving advice as to how to go about joining another group should AGD not be for her.

Considering the nature of what the OP says about Alpha Gam, the answers were not harsh. Keep it moving, please.
