A couple reasons I asked:
I know lot of schools offer Freshman Advantage-esque summer programs. Although I think typically you have to apply/qualify academically for them. Which, despite grammatical evidence to the contrary, the OP may have managed.

If that was the case (or she was allowed to enroll in regular summer classes) I doubt it would be enough class credit to give her sophomore status. Both schools do fall formal recruitment a few weeks into the semester, and will be looking at the HS GPA only for incoming freshman. If you've taken Dual Credit (some MO high schools have this instead of AP—basically, you take an advanced class through a CC or college near your high school for college credit, which then transfers to your post-graduate institution) then 1) those credits usually don't factor into your college GPA and 2) they'll just want your HS GPA/transcript as a freshman anyway.

If you meant you were going to take summer classes at a local community college or something and then transfer the credits to UCM or MSU, then you should keep in mind the registrar's offices are typically pretty busy around the start of semester (when rush is) and could take a while to process.
