The only thing I can think is that letting Jamie go now makes it much easier to get down to the final 4 after next week -- they drop Leah and the final 4 is Carla, Hosea, Fabio and Stefan. Leah vs. Jamie for the final 4 would have been a tough call and Carla clearly did a better job on this past challenge, so they made the tough decision this week. The final 4 should be a hoot!
