Old TV shows and the Net
Are any of you aware of Hulu.com, Fancast, Joost and a few other services which allows you to watch TV programs (and a lot of old shows) on the net?
I missed most of the 24 movie that came on last week and managed to watch again in full thru Hulu.
I 'discovered' it while helping my mom buy a laptop this weekend. I heard about it before and never paid much attention to it until I found a few shows that I liked and started watching....it's addictive when you find some great old treasures!! (Can anyone say CHiPs and Emergency?)
She tends to watch a lot of stuff and she likes it becase she can take her time watching a show and not disturb my pop if he is watching something on the regular TV (no....they have not discovered DVR but I am trying!!) There are websites which allow to watch a lot of old shows as well as recent episodes of new ones online for free..the only caveat is that you need a good PC and connection to get a good stream and some sites like AOL video tend to have crappy service. But some of the sites also have a LOT of old shows avaliable for watching even ones that have never been released on DVD!
What do you think of the idea?
If you are already doing it, what service are you using and what else do you recommend?
Pros and cons if you have any.
