Just to set the record straight on this...our official nickname is SIGMA and we popularly accept SGRho also as the alternative. But you will never hear our national body call us by any other name besides SIGMAS and on paper also, it is only SIGMA.
The "Rho" thing is prevalent on the West Coast (Cali) and in some other areas where sorors don't mind being called Rho's. But the truth is, that many of my sorors can't stand to be called "Rho's" and ya might just pull back a nub if you address them as such
. From a national/international standpoint, we don't even hear/use our last letter much except when referring to our Omega Rho chapter and our youth group, the Rhoer Club...and also when creating Sigma words like "rhoyalty" and "sorhors."
And that's the "real" truth.
