Big/Lil Sis Revealing Poem
Long Version:
Okay, I need help, bad. When the big/lil sis's are revealed in my chapter, the big reads her new lil a poem. Here's my dealy-o. My family tree is HURTING! While my grand-big is a major force in the sorority, she graduated in December (and is now alumni). I have just suspeneded my big sis (i'm treasurer) and my current lil sis is having a crisis on whether or not to remain at our school, or to transfer to where her family is moving. This leaves me as the only active in my family tree. this is reason #1 for taking another lil sis.
This semester's new member class is bigger than last semesters, and with a couple of girls on probation, the chance to have another lil sis is being offered to those of us who already already bigs. there is one particulare new member who stands out in terms of personality matches, and i really like her, so I am taking her as my (2nd) lil sis.
anyway, now that everyone has WAY more information than needed, on to the reason for this post. unlike a couple of the family trees in my chapter, there is not a single poem that gets passed down with every big/lil combo. I need a poem to read to my new lil sis at the revealing ceremony. My current lil sis will be there, and while i want to show my new lil sis how important she is, i don't want my current lil to feel left out. I was thinking of giving them both a poem, but i'm not finding anything i like on the web! I'm gonna post the poem i read to my current lil sis at the end so you can all get a feel for kinda maybe what i'm looking for
Short Version:
I need a poem for my new lil sis, and a poem for my current lil sis.
Poem From Last semester:
Laugh and I'll laugh with you
Weep and I'll weep too,
For whatever comes to criticize you
Is there to criticize me too.
Work and I'll work with you
Fight and I'll fight too,
For whatever barrier needs breaking
Can be broken by me and you.
Think and I'll think with you
Dream and I'll dream too,
For few share such visions
As are shared by me and you.
Worship and I'll worship with you
Love and I'll love too,
For these are the things worth doing,
And can be done by me and you.
Sisters are like the stars...you can't always see them,
but you know they are always there.
