My first formal recruitment as an active, I was so nervous that I broke out in hives! I tried to find a PNM that I knew already in every group because I didn't want the other PNMs to think that all the Alpha Gams were blotchy messes!
The chapters are often just as nervous as the PNMs - I couldn't keep my nervousness under control so the next two formals I was a recruitment counselor where I was more comfortable.
Forgive them if they seem too rehearsed or a little flighty or something - they may be just as nervous as you are!
